Mad Scientist
This Toolbox is a Montessori By Mom classic. We love this month’s theme, because children REALLY love it. It was kid-tested many times, and we were surprised at the range of ages that these materials appeal to. Children really feel like they are a ‘Mad Scientist.’
Pouring and Mixing
With this set, your child will effortlessly develop the coordination and concentration needed to pour liquids from one container to another, work on their fine motor skills with the droppers, and learn about color mixing in a way that engages the imagination. Kids LOVE pouring the colored water from beaker to beaker, or using the droppers and funnels to transfer the water. The beakers that are included are all real, lab grade materials, so they can be used for scientific experiments as your child grows.
Mixing colors is so fun to visualize, and really engages the senses. The dye tablets that are included are non-toxic, and washable, so you don’t have to worry about stains!
Montessori Color Tablets
Dr, Montessori believed that children learn best when a single concept, like color, is isolated from other attributes. Objects that can be sorted by color, size, and shape do not provide an optimal learning experience. She developed her color tablets to isolate the single concept of color. Since the traditional color tablets are wooden and can be expensive, we’ve created our own economic version by using cards.
Don’t be deceived; while these matching cards seem simple, there are so many fantastic activities that can be done with them that are outlined in the instructions and they will keep your child engaged.
Advanced Scientific Concepts
There are a lot of simple skill-building activities with this Toolbox, but older children will also get a lot of use out of the materials! They can use the materials to learn more advanced Scientific Concepts such as Volume and Measurement, and can also practice math concepts such as addition and subtraction in a fun way!

Note: Dropper Lids
Due to continued worldwide supply chain issues, we were not able to supply the usual dropper lids from our bottles, and the new ones may be harder to use. In order to make this Toolbox the best we can, we included a large medical dropper. In testing with our own kids, we have found this to be even better as it presents different levels of difficulty and makes the measurement activities easier. We hope that your family will enjoy the Mad Scientist Toolbox as much as we do!
